One of the photographs donated to Metal by Dennis Flood, a railway enthusiast (not to be confused with the photographer of the same name). This one depicts a locomotive pulling a passenger train, passing under a bridge, with another bridge in the backgound

The further bridge is the one that carries Rathbone Road over the railway - the bridge closer to us was a circular line allowing trains to cross the mainline without clogging it up!

This photograph was donated by me but taken by the late Jim Peden.
It shows a Liverpool bound train travelling in from the Olive Mount direction. This is likely to be a semi-fast service from Manchester, via Tyldesley.                            The bridge directly above the train carried the `Circular Goods Line`. To the right of the bridge trains came trains to/from Engine Shed Junction, near to Wavertree Junction, and the left of the bridge came trains to/from Exhibition Junction and the Edge Hill Grid Iron Sidings. This bridge has now been demolished. In the foreground of the bridge in the distance is now Wavertree Technology Park Station.
