Resource Type: Image | Posted on 15th May 2014 by Jenny Porter

This is the second part of a note from Russell Davies’ research into the history of the Edge Hill BR Brass Band for their centenary celebration in 1979. Russell Davies was the band’s Vice President during the 1970s. The materials were donated to us by Ken Fretwell.
The first part cane be seen here: http://www.edgehillstation.co.uk/resources/scribble-31/
This note describes how the first contest won by the band was at Colwyn Bay on New Years Day in 1912. It also states how when the railways were amalgamated the bands name was altered to Edge Hill LMS Brass Band and then to Edge Hill BR Brass Band.
