One of the images donated to Metal by Eric Shenton. This 1978 shows the original Rocket in the Science Museum in London, where it remains to this day. A waxwork model of a driver can be seen. Note how the Rocket has lost its original yellow livery and is displayed without its tender

Such a pity Edge Hill couldn’t display the Rocket in its original colours in its original stomping ground at Edge Hill.  Yellow would give more of an idea of what this creator of the modern world, Stephenson, felt when he chose it.
