Picture shows rebuilt 4-6-0 Royal Scot class locomotive “Lancashire Fusilier”. First entered service with L.M.S. November 1927, rebuilt September 1944 and withdrawn from service (scrapped) December 1963. On 27 August 1950 whilst hauling an express passenger train, this engine was in collision with another engine at Penmaenmawr on the north Wales coast, attributed to a signalling error. One person was killed in the accident.
